Overview
Transformational Governance (TG) prioritises accountability, ethics, inclusivity, and transparency in business, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16. Traditional corporate governance overlooks socio-economic, political, and environmental risks crucial to ethical leadership and sustainability.
In 2022, the United Nations Global Compact launched a ThinkLab on Transformational Governance to shape the Global Compact’s thought leadership on critical sustainability issues. As a result, the Transformational Governance Corporate Toolkit was developed. The Toolkit aids companies in assessing their TG baseline and gaining actionable insights. In Nigeria, integrating TG into corporate governance aligns with the global goal of creating resilient and just societies.
In line with this, the launch of the Transformational Governance Corporate Toolkit by the UN Global Compact Network Nigeria aims to identify integration opportunities within Nigeria’s corporate landscape.
