Target Gender Equality Accelerator

The sixth cohort of the Target Gender Equality Accelerator, which began in September 2025, culminated in a close-out session marking International Women’s Day. The session brought business leaders, policymakers and development partners together around a single question: what it takes to move from gender equality commitments to measurable impact in governance, leadership and access to finance.

Target Gender Equality supports participating companies of the UN Global Compact in setting and meeting ambitious targets for women’s representation and leadership, working through performance analysis, capacity building and peer learning over the course of the programme. The emphasis throughout is on targets a company can be held to, and on the internal changes required to reach them.

Round 6 participants included FCMB, Sahara Group, Multiple Development Services, Delmedia, The Fabrics Sale Nigeria, SOSAI Renewable Energies, Minerva Legal, LADOL, Sketchline and Designs Nigeria Limited and Natural Eco Capital, spanning financial services, energy, legal services, logistics, media and the creative sector.

A new cohort has since begun with a fresh round of companies. It is an entirely different cohort from the sixth, while the spread across sectors has been retained, extending the programme’s reach to a new set of organisations without narrowing it to a single industry.
