The Nigeria cohort of the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals, made up of 31 participating companies, took part in the Global Virtual Showcase on 28 July 2026, where Alitheia Capital represented Nigeria alongside teams from 20 other Country Networks.
The showcase is the point in the accelerator where the work becomes public. Over the course of the programme, young professionals inside participating companies develop business-led solutions aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals, and the showcase puts those solutions in front of an international audience drawn from across the Global Compact’s network of Country Networks.
The Nigerian team was subsequently selected as one of five global finalists for the Leaders Summit Pitch Competition, held in New York City on 23 September 2026. Reaching the final five from a field spanning more than twenty Country Networks placed the Nigerian entry among the strongest of the global cohort.
The result reflects the programme’s core objective of developing scalable solutions that deliver both business value and sustainable impact, and it speaks to the depth of the innovation ecosystem the Network’s participating companies are drawing from.
It also reinforces the case the Network makes to its participants on the value of investing in young professionals internally: the capability exists inside these organisations, and it competes well when it is given a structured route to develop.
